The name MESTIZO suggests “mezcla” or “fusion”, a term that was utilised principally to designate the descendents of indigenous Mexicans with Spaniards. Our mission at MESTIZO is to bring to London the best that Mexican food has to offer. Established in 2005. The Mexican owners, chef’s and staff of Mestizo wanted to bring a full authentic Mexican menu back to London. Not just burritos or tacos, but a full a la carte menu featuring the celebration dishes all people in Mexico enjoy on a regular basis. They wanted to feature the important dates in the Mexican calendar where the food takes the star attraction. Festivals featuring mole (pronounced moh-lay) chile peppers, the margarita festival, and tamale festival as well as an extensive a la carte menu, and a tequila bar featuring 250 tequila, mezcal and sotol, ensures that Mestizo lives us to it’s promise.
